Main Requirements for Obtaining the Engineer\/Specialist in Humanities\/International Services Visa<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although \u201cEngineer\/Specialist in Humanities\/International Services\u201d is a single residence status, the requirements differ between the \u201cEngineer\/Specialist in Humanities\u201d category and the \u201cInternational Services\u201d category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">(A) In the Case of \u201cEngineer\/Specialist in Humanities<\/mark><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2460Requirements on the Applicant\u2019s Side<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u30fbHaving studied relevant subjects at a university,   graduate school, junior college, or \u3000an equivalent  institution in Japan or abroad, and having \ngraduated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u30fbCompletion of a vocational school program in  Japan. \nNote that vocational schools \u3000outside Japan do not satisfy this requirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u30fbIf the above educational requirements are not met, the applicant must have at least     \n \u3000ten years of relevant work experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2461 Requirements Related to the Job Duties<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u30fbThe duties must be work that cannot be  \n    performed without technical or academic  \n   \u3000knowledge in the fields of natural sciences or \n   humanities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u30fbThe duties must require a certain level of specialized knowledge, based on having \u3000majored in humanities\u2011related or science\u2011related subjects at a university, junior \u3000college, or similar institution, and must involve academic and systematic \u3000knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2462 Requirements on the Employer\u2019s Side<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u30fbThe business must be conducted appropriately and must demonstrate stability and \u3000continuity. In other words, the company is expected to have obtained any \u3000necessary licenses or permits, to be generating sales or profits, and to be capable of \u3000continuing its operations in the future. It is also required that the applicant receive \u3000salary equivalent to or higher than that paid to Japanese employees performing \u3000the same work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(B)In the Case of \u201cInternational Services\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2460Requirements on the Applicant\u2019s Side<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u30fbHaving at least three years of work experience in duties related to the job to be \u3000performed.\n(For those engaged in translation, interpretation, or language \u3000instruction, work experience is not required if they have graduated from a \u3000university.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2461 Requirements Related to the Job Duties<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u30fbActivities that primarily involve work requiring thinking or sensitivity based on \u3000foreign cultures (such as interpreting, translation, teaching at private language \u3000schools, or advertising design).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2462 Requirements on the Employer\u2019s Side<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u30fbThe same requirements apply as those for the \u201cEngineer\/Specialist in Humanities\u201d \u3000category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3.Evaluation Criteria<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u30fbMeeting the required educational background or work\u2011experience criteria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u30fbWhether the duties to be performed require a certain level of specialization (i.e., \u3000they must not consist of simple or manual labor).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u30fbWhether the duties to be performed are related to the applicant\u2019s academic or \u3000professional background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">\u30fbWhether the company\u2019s business operations are lawful and financially stable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"translation-block\">To obtain a \u2018Engineer\/Specialist in Humanities\/International Services\u2019 visa, it is essential to understand the key points of the screening process and to demonstrate that the applicant meets all the required criteria.
